Before pre-wedding session, this time I had to say ‘Congratulations, Boyke and Ike!’. This take was quite unique, because we discussed it after their wedding vows. It’s because it’s so hard to get the best time and the couples were too busy to prepare their vows, especially Ike with her ‘so Javanese family’. Ike had to follow the tradition before marriage – dipingit (secluded). It’s said that it’s to make the brides “manglingi” (shine brighter and more beautiful than she’s usually). Welcome back Boyke and Ike. Today you look even more alike. Is it a proof for what the old people say that soulmates look alike?! Hehehe… So glad to’ve helped you put your pre-wed memories into frames. Fiuhhh… It was a very hot afternoon. Located in South Jakarta, we started to prepare everything for that day, and so did Boyke and Ike…Wow, surpriseeee!!! I like how Ike looked like this time, ‘You look so fresh and cheerful as if you’re the Ike who’s not you’re always to be – the gentle Ike.’ This time they look really different, unlike their siraman, when Ike looked so beautiful in her traditional Javanese clothes. Even when Ike wore the Palembang traditional dress, her beauty shone elegantly. And Boyke looked like a prince of Palembang getting married. The song “Don’t cry for me Argentina” sung by Madonna crossed my mind. Ike’s louboutin shoes and black short dress with simple flared accent and netty hat made her so much like Madonnna as Evita Peron in the film. Hahaha, but don’t worry Ike, in my eyes you’re more beautiful than Madonna. The cooler thing was that Boyke wore stripped black suit and bow tie. Hahahaha, I felt like taking pics of celebrities…
Seeing Boyke in the beginning of our session made me smile. He still seemed shy even though he’d already married when we asked him to act more expressive in every take. Thankfully, the train station, which is usually crowded, wasn’t at that time. Perhaps people know that it’s Boyke and Ike’s day. I can imagine that if it was crowded, Boyke will be so shy. To be more adventurous, we didn’t waste the train parking there, especially when it still had empty container boxes. Spontaneously I asked them to climb up and got into the box that could be opened. It was a bit uneasy, but gratefully our hard work was so amazing that Dicky said it’s exotic. Yeah, it felt more like making a romantic film than taking pre-wedding shoots, but it was cool, wasn’t it?! Though we had to deal with the officers telling you to go down. That day, we were content and we had fun. For us especially, every session always brings us nice gifts. It’s so exciting to take your pics again, esp after marriage you express your love to each other more freely. Wish you a happy life, Boyke and Ike…
